solis barista espresso machine review (after 6 weeks)

tldr: we still like the machine and are satisfied with it.

 

Having an espresso machine at home is the ultimate luxury for me. Since moving to korea last year I have missed the cafe lattés from my favourite hamburg café. In korean cafés I usually order iced americano or iced vanilla latte. The korean vanilla lattes are somehow less sweet?

But I do miss the big coffee mugs filled with steamed milk and coffee:

When I was living in Hamburg I used to have an espresso machine, but I only packed one suitcase to bring to Korea, therefore the espresso machine didn't fit :')

 

So of course I was very happy when my husband and I decided to buy an espresso machine to make my dream home café come true once again, lol.

We decided on the Solis Barista Perfetta Plus 1170 . We bought it around 6 weeks ago, and I am still very happy. In the beginning it was quite hard to turn the portafilter onto the machine after filling it with grinded coffee. We are now only using the 2 cup sized filter. Over time it has become easier to turn.

 

The tamper that is included has a nice weight. Makes it feel very professional haha.

So now, in the mornings I make an iced americano for my partner to take to work, and a caffè latte for mee.
